About Me
Rebecca Smith is a Registered Social Worker who received her Master’s Degree in Social Work specializing in mental health from the University of Toronto. Rebecca works with adults and adolescents (13+) struggling with a wide variety of concerns including symptoms of anxiety, depression, eating disorders, borderline personality traits, relationship difficulties, emotion regulation concerns, grief/loss, and much more.

Rebecca is also very passionate about working with individuals who have been effected directly or indirectly by chronic or terminal illnesses. Rebecca believes in a life well-lived alongside illness and works closely with clients to find ways to improve quality of life and fulfillment even in the face of significant health challenges. Rebecca also provides support to parents, caregivers, partners, siblings, and any other loved one who is struggling with the psychological and social impact of having a loved one who is ill.

Rebecca works collaboratively with clients to establish treatment goals and uses evidence-based modalities which are tailored to the unique needs of each individual client. Rebecca draws on elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) to provide clients with strategies to manage the challenges that they are facing. Rebecca has also completed training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Enhanced for Eating Disorders (CBT-E) through Oxford University.

Rebecca has worked with a wide variety of client populations in various settings including post-secondary institutes, crisis intervention, inpatient treatment settings, and private practice.

In her free time Rebecca enjoys reading, running, playing guitar, crafting, spending time with loved ones, and going for hikes with her dog.
